136. The words of prayers to Allah, before the battle

Dua 287

Rabbanā 'afrigh `alaynā Sabrāan wa thabbit 'aqdāmanā wa nsurnā `ala l-qawmi l-Kafirin

And when they advanced to meet Jalut (Goliath) and his forces, they invoked:

"Our Lord! Pour forth on us patience and make us victorious over the disbelieving people."

Reference: Quran, Surah 2, Ayat 250

Dua 292

Rabbanā ghfir lanā Dhzunubanā wa 'isrāfanā fi 'amrinā wa thabbit 'aqdāmanā wa nsurnā `ala l-qawmi l-Kāfirin

146. And many a Prophet fought and along with him (fought) large bands of learned, religious men. But they never lost heart for that which did befall them in Allah's Way, nor did they weaken nor degrade themselves. And Allah loves the patient.
147. And they said nothing but:

"Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties to You), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk."

Reference: Quran, Surah 3, Ayats 146-147
